It does look remarkably similar to FSX! Bu that say that's just WIP

Kind regards

The understanding I gleaned out of the "leak" department was that the focus of "Flight" was to make what FSX was going to be before M$ decided that they weren't going to slip the release of FSX because of the DX10 problems. That resulted in FSX being re-written for DX9 and the ensuing problems. This one will be DX11 native with proper multi-core support (another last-minute "patch" of FSX) and some of the wanted Flight Model changes that didn't make the final cut for FSX may make it into the final version of "Flight" if the release timeline allows.

So, hopefully what we'll get is a "polished" FSX that actually looks like it was supposed to. :)

I heard that it will be an on-line sort of thing (possible X-Box?) and you will not be able to make add-ons and new scenery as such. Maybe just 'doom and gloom' talk in other forums, so we will have to wait and see. FSX will last me a few more years though.

So you can only fly the planes from a position 30ft behind and above the plane and there will be large illuminated arrows in the sky to help the goldfish brained to turn in the right place because they have forgotten it already since they last flew around the loop 1 minute before? ;)

However.....
I would like to see some FSX backward compatibility, it's Microsoft and they always do so with operating systems so I hope....
I hope the major work has gone into engine optimisation so that we don't have to wait another 10 years before having a PC that can run it in high detail.
Faster front end UI, I often walk away and make a cup of tea whilst the aircraft list loads in. (No thumbnail lists, go back to the FS9 way of choosing aircraft).
The game this time looks like the preview screenshots. (Unlike the DX10 preview).

Hiya Trev.

I sure hope not, and I honesty think MS will be shooting themselves in the leg torso and head if they do. We shall have to wait and see.

I don't have a box to play games so if it does, I guess FSX will be the sim for many years to come.

PS
I'm not suggesting MS will shoot themselves three times . just once ...... with one of those magic JFK bullets :agree:

5 more images on their website.

I've yet to see anything though that I haven't seen on FSX (with 3rd party add-ons).

You can only truly compare this with basic FS.x

The same mistake is still made with comparing much expanded FS.9 with out of the box FS.X.
