I know that there are a lot of people who think American becoming part of IAG is "inevitable", but US law won't be changed anytime soon, so any "part of IAG" will be in name only because American will have to function wholly separate of the rest of the company because of not only US business law, but our Federal Air Regulations on what is and isn't a "flag carrier", which American currently is. Unless IAG can get the FAA to change those definitions, if AA truly becomes part of IAG, then they'll be American Airlines operating long-haul into the US only and loose all domestic operating rights.speedbird591 wrote:IAG (BA, IB and eventually AA) has no choice but to expand at Madrid as there is no capacity in the UK for expansion even on a moderate scale.
