Virtavia Supermarine Scimitar

Post by DarrenL »

Virtavia have re-launched the Alphasim Scimitar today, has anyone got it and can give recommendation or not?

I've always liked the Scimitar and as far as I know this is the only model of it for FSX and it'll add to a great Naval line up on Ark Royal if it's worth it. :)

Hi Darren.

The Scimitar was (I think) the last Alpha model I bought and suffered the same high-speed stall characteristics shown by the previous couple of fast jets they released. However, I suspected it would and it did but I wanted one anyway  I never fly it but it's there should I want to one day. Boring I know but all my carrier ops in fast jets are done in the Skysim Vixen ;)

Thanks for the quick reply Dave.

I'll hold off for now I think, it's not an essential and I've got more than enough to keep me occupied since Christmas. I'm sure the Flying Stations Buccaneer will soon take my mind off it anyway :)

I'd love to know if it's been upgraded at all from the old Alpha model. I held off purchasing that based on what people said at the time but if it's been tweaked or improved I might part with some pennies.

£22 seems to be quite an amount for an FS9 model ported into fsx. It must be something like six years old now.

It's FSX native isn't it?

I doubt it's been touched in any shape or form since it was on sale at Alpha though I can't confirm that (which I'm not going to)

It's also on sale here.. http://secure.simmarket.com/virtavia-su ... mk.1.phtml

The FSX model is FSX native and the FS9 model is.. an FS9 model :)

As far as I am aware it has not been up graded in any way, but still enjoy flying it.
