Those 'before and after' pics are amazing! :-O They really did a great job restoring her.

If they had boxes and boxes of spares to put back into G-BBDG it makes you wonder why it was stripped in the first place :)

Talking of Concorde "les Français" are managing to keep one alive - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsPksS4eXJ4 I believe this is the one they are even talking about getting engines started on. But if not it's nice to at least see all the flashy bits lit up again :)

The boxes and boxes of spares didn't all come from Filton with DG.. many of them came from LHR. Brooklands is now the biggest Concorde spares centre in the country.. perhaps the world! To put things into perspective.. much of what turned up from Heathrow was never made available to the engineering staff there. Special tools.. rigs.. things that would have made the engineers life a darned sight easier arrived at Brooklands brand new, either crated and/or wrapped in original greaseproof paper. Such was the regime at BA Engineering 8) As for spares to keep Concorde operational.. DG was a good source but not the only source. If something was needed to get a flight in the air, it would be taken off and aircraft on the ground and returned (perhaps) after the return flight :worried: You always get a surfeit of spares that don't ever get needed (the original parts don't break) and we have a lot of these. The more common 'required' spares will have long gone ;)
