Post by WhisperJet »

Great new DVD lets you board a 727-200 in Tehran.
Even the 10 mins trailer is smashing in athmosphere, detail and quality... enjoy here:

I flew on one of them from Shiraz to Tehran in 1977.

Not a lot of people know that.

Well, I hope so. The only other person I mentioned it to was Julian Assange.

Well many moons ago i was lucky enough to get on a Pan Am 747 freighter up at Heathrow, sadly we never left the ground though. i was on a trip with my local air scout troop and we were shown around the big beast, quite an impressive site. Another time we had a trip to my local airport lulsgate and we were given a guided tour of Dan Air Comet 4c G-BDIW, i think this was the first time i had ventured inside an aircraft so you can imagine how excited i was.. The air scouts were good for all things aircraft,i just wasnt too keen on doing the other things not related to the aircraft lol...

Going back to the original subject of aircraft DVDs, a while back i purchased the YES Linhas Aereas Charter Tristar, a charter airline based at Lisbon and flying A L1011 on featured routes to Brazil and the Dominican Republic. A good insight into the operations of the L1011,my only complaint was with all the cockpit noise, it was sometimes hard to hear what the Portugese captain and co pilot were explaining. I think next time i will try one of our local airlines....

Not sure what happened to "YES" and tristar CS-TMX, but i bet i know someone who does...

best regards Frank..

Seriously: I can't help asking myself if we'll ever live to see this country being free...
