I know what you mean if speaking about catching people like Philip Green who manages to avoid £250million tax bills.
But increasing taxes for those who do pay their taxes properly. No. The top 1% of earners (earning over £150,000 a year) pay 25% of the UKs tax bill already, up from 11% of 1978.
First guys got the bad news today. Really feel for them. Some of those remaining further down the pipline have now got the burden of waiting for another week or so before they find out.
Dear me HC.. I've only been thinking this past couple of weeks that training seems to have stepped up around here if anything. Not seen as much traffic to and from Benson in a long time. I liked the report on the news tonight about Libya with Mr Cameron saying 'we won't let the people down'. The reporter made the question, what 'can' we do? Well, we can't send an aircraft carrier as Ark Royal was decomissioned last year e t c..
Wonder if Mr C thought about that before starting to make promises?

If he had thought about making promises he wouldn't have stood for election!

I think they all 'believe' they can change the world before they get in mate but once there and in the rubble of what the previous incumbent left, the world is suddenly a very different place
I bet Labour are laughing their arses off tbh. The coalition get to make all the hard decisions to sort the Country out and become unpopular as a result while those lefty sods get to jump back at the next election...

Not sure why any of them ever stand. Not convinced by the "I think they all 'believe' they can change the world".
My favourite quote is along the lines of "the only man ever to enter the Houses of Parliament with honest intentions was Guy Fawkes".
The other concept is to have a voting slip that includes "none of you lot" as one of the options. Quite what happens if that is the nation's choice is another problem.
I undestand that according to one paper or TV Programme our erstwhile Chancellor is also working a tax loophole. So he won't be in too much of a hurry to close them. Seven figure sum mentioned.
