she DOESN'T CONCENTRATE....all of the time.....

Hi,

I had a spot of Driving Instucting for a couple of years back in the 80's and had on average 40 pupils a week, i had some frights some laughs and some tears!

Mind you i did have dual control,

I agree its not the best thing to teach a love one, mind you i don't drive anywhere near as much as i used to and i find that the driving standards are diabolical at times, the thing that i notice more than anything is that people will drive far to close to your rear! and i'm used to it but as i leave a longer gap in front, you get them jumping in, its not so bad in a car but it really used to get to me when i was driving 40tons of truck!!!

We all think we are good drivers i suppose but my attitude has always been ,"i would rather be 5 minutes late in this world than 10 minutes early in the next"

I remember when I taught my wife to drive, in addition to professional lessons. I got here to reverse round this corner on one of the main approach roads into Guildford town centre. She said 'don't be ridiculous, they won't get me to do this here'. On the test guess where she did the reverse round the corner manoeuvre?

I gave up teaching my first wife after one go...I sent her off for proper driving lessons and she passed her test at first attempt.

My son is currently enrolled in a driving school (and it's a nice reputable school) but his only driving experience at this school has been in parking lots. Now that he has a 'learners permit' I thought I'd get him out onto the real streets. Having witnessed his lightning-fast reflexes "driving" on Nintendo games I assumed the same would carry over to real driving.

Can anyone explain why women can never resist a mirror, wherever they are and no matter what they're doing....except when driving.

I don't think my ex wife even knew the car had mirrors

Oh, they do look in mirrors.. particularly the inside mirror to adjust their hair or add a little 'slap' but I know what you mean. To be fair, lack of awareness isn't restricted to women drivers but I'd say blokes use their mirrors more because they drive a bit faster and are more likely to be checking they're not being followed by the law

This really blonde airhead actress/model type was counting her false eyelashes in the mirror when she noticed a car with red and blue flashing lights on driving up behind her. She knew what this meant because she once had to do it in a TV commercial, so she pulled over and stopped.

The patrol car pulls in behind and a lady policeman - who is also blonde - gets out and comes up to the actress' driver's window.

'Good morning, ma'am, could you show me your Driving Licence?'

'I dunno, what does it look like?'

'It's about the size of a credit card and it has your picture on it'

'Oh....'

The actress rummages around in her handbag for a while and finds a small vanity mirror.

'Ah, that must be it, here you are, is this OK?'

The patrol officer looks at it, smiles and hands it back, saying

'Yes, that's fine, but you should have told me you were in the Police Force'

I tried to teach the first Mrs B to drive but gave up after she put the car into the ditch. A mate in the police offered to give her some lesson but he, too, gave up and took to drink. Long after our divorce she finally passed her driving test - she was into her 50's by then - and, to my knowledge, only ever drove herself once thereafter! Talk about a waste of time and money...............................
