I would be keen to know how the fire started. Seems to miss out a decent segement of footage during the scrapping process.

That is one tough wing! Fuel vapours in the tanks maybe? They probably got bored with the JCB and got the oxy-acetylene out...

Sad end to a proud and successful service....
At least she gave the crash crews a valuable if unplanned training session. Can't be a bad thing if it keeps them on their toes, though it did mean they were at risk of being unavailable for a real emergency at the same time which isn't good

Your probably right there Garry
I suppose even the smoke would be causing enough of hazard in itself if near any active part of the airfield to limit flying till it was dealt with
( next time I'll wait til someone else puts their foot in it before commenting
