Fotopic goes into liqudation

Post by delticbob »

Not sure if this has been covered, though I don't remember seeing it in the last few days.

Like me, some of you might have some or your images hosted by the well known 'fotopic' website. (www.fotopic.net).

Last few days its been down, amid speculation that it was either a server issue, or more serious. Its as serious as it gets http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/ne ... 06622.html The site has gone into liqudation & though I personally still have all the images backed up, that were on there, on hard drive/disc, there are plenty who have been cought napping.

Hope there are none here who have been caught out.

Bob

TBH I would never store any pics on a third party site :worried: ....hosting for web use only

If I put anything on one of those storage sites, it would only be as a backup and not the only copy of the data. Trouble is with ADSL it takes so long to upload Gb of data "to the cloud" that I haven't bothered - just multiple copies "on the ground".
