:)

I just had a look at the CVA-01 details. It was cancelled due to cost, it was going to cost £70million............... I know it's 1960s money but think of the money that's been peed up the wall since. We got no CVAs and no TSR2 either, or even the F-111 that was supposed to fill in.

Details on CVA-01 - http://navy-matters.beedall.com/cva01.htm

Mmmmmmmmmmmm 36 Phantoms and Buccaneers..................

Thanks for that chaps.

Never have my binoculars at crucial moments.

Noticed "Multraship Tug MTS Viscount" on the map.

I think a comma after the word 'built' or 'not' italisized would have made the comment more easily understood mate. :)

Bristol was also bloody expensive.. too expensive as it transpired which was another reason only 1 was built. Still.. it was and still is a handsome ship. Never served on it but I know a man who did

Might be on her way to be reactivated

A new ship would probably be cheaper though.

I quiet agree, I've done quick a bit of recruitment photography on-board her, she makes a great backdrop, but you have to keep the wooden decks out of shot!

That's an odd one John. She's flying a Rear-Admirals flag and still has her pennant number :-O How old is that shot? *-)
For the uninitiated.. an Admiral has no balls, a Vice-Admiral has one ball, a Rear-Admiral has 2 balls and a Commodore flies a pennant with one ball. Has that come out right *-)

Great Dave, now I'll have this song running in my head today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_W-fIn2QZgg

My luck during a serious meeting with clients, I'll have to keep myself from having a laugh.
