Visiting that page just "wasted" a whole load of time. Prefer "She's Not There" from the Zombies (cover version by Santana!). And then I found The Small Faces: Itchycoo Park, Tin Soldier, so had to listen to those too.

Now what was I doing in those days -seems like it was mid 60s, so discovering girls and biking to and from Heathrow to watch Viscounts, Vanguards, etc

Now what was I doing in those days...

I was discovering girls, listening to tunes such as 'Time of the Season' on my brand new Transistor Radio, and spending summer evenings watching 707's, DC-9's, and Convair 580's fly in and out of the local airport. Great times they were. *sigh*

Yes, I suppose St. Albans can be really shocking - all the ruins!

Seriously, Tell Her No, reached number 2 in the US and did not break the top forty in the UK. She's Not There also reached number 2 in the US and and Number 12 in the UK, Time of The Season peaked at number 3 in the US and did not break the top forty in the UK. Some of those chart positions depend on which source you reference but in general, they had bigger hits in the Colonies than back home.

This phenonoma also works in reverse - while a huge success in the US, The Everly Brothers were far bigger in the UK! Their reunion concert on 23, September, 1983 took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London. It really was a reunion too because Don and Phil are real brothers (unlike The Righteous Brothers) and had not spoken to each other for ten years. The concert in London was payback for their British fans. Concert information from my double LP vinyl album. I always liked the Everlys and they had a big influence on The Beatles, Vinyl, for the youngsters ...... well it was a long time ago, suffice to say.
