Ahh..that'll be the place where I spent many drunken hours in pubs whilst doing Army driver training at a nearby ex-RAF base....

Speaking of Beverley...

Next Tuesday on ITV at 7.30pm is a new series (6 parts) "Military Driving School".

The Radio Times blurb starts off "Following life at the Defence School of Transport in East Yorkshire....."

I'm thinking this is (ex) RAF Driffield - not a thousand miles from Beverley.

I did actually see the Bristol Beverley when it was at the Museum of Army Transport in Beverley. When the museum closed the airframe there was dismantled (again) & ended up at Fort Paull to the east of Hull. I keep meaning to pop over & see it. May be this century then :wasntme:
