Re: A380 oopsie !!!
Hi,
This is i'm afraid as we all know the trouble why this aircraft will never be any good as a passenger plane, cargo yes,
There are not many airports that it can use with the double deck and it overhangs the taxiways as well, its like using the Lockheed C5 Galaxy at Heathrow!!
Saying that i live in the South East of the UK and this past week i have seen the 380 nearly every day flying over and she does look a great sight, more so in the Emirates colors,
Just my two pennies
Cheers,
Roger.

Re: A380 oopsie !!!
This was posted the other day and I repeat my comment at being surprise how fast it was taxiing in a restricted area.
The collision has nothing to do with the A.380's size as they don't collide all the time (is this the first)? and ground collision are quite common.a lack
Air France operates more than one 380 flight a day to NY and up to now they hadn't hit anything so it purely an incident that could happen to any type even though of course it would be easier to do this in a 380 than something smaller.

Re: A380 oopsie !!!
Sorry Garry , didn't realise it was posted already
My thoughts exactly though , does look like it's taxying too fast to me also !
And I agree it could've been an A330 or B747 and just bad luck or judgement IMO ?

Re: A380 oopsie !!!
right Garry , moving very briskly for area. I can't recall the airline that had one of their A380's be the first to have a collision. A building is what it was.
A aircraft repair facility - ironically,..
..... of all thing to hit.

Re: A380 oopsie !!!
Now that you mention it I remember
there was something about a bang ... and a cockup
Or was the cockup first
anyway New wing please! !
Re: A380 oopsie !!!
I cannot see why the double deck is any problem at all. The 747-300 had a very extensive double deck . Just because they were more common in Asia than in Europe does not mean that they were unsuccessfuldodger wrote:Hi,

Roger.
What is it about the British that causes us to run our products down so much??
P.S. Everyone I know who has flown on it thinks it is a superb passenger aeroplane

Incursions happen
After Crew fatigue and Aging airframes its one of the most important items on the FAA's agenda, JFK is limited on space for taxiways and push back areas, I would have thought the ground controller might have had the wit to hold the RJ's pushback until AFTER the 380 had passed, oh wait a minute, he was probably asleep....
