With all the sad passings recently, ( Elisabeth Sladen, Professor Richard Holmes and Henry Cooper ), what a tonic to learn of the long-overdue demise of this scumbag. I sincerely hope it was a painful end, and bloody good riddance. Al Qaeda will still be there, and they might now be out for revenge, but at least the dog that led the pack is no more.

The perfect end to a great holiday weekend. Well done to all involved.

Yep, great news!
It's nice to see that the trash has finally been taken out.
Just wait until photos of his corpse are released on the Internet. I'm sure we'll be seeing some seriously creative photoshoping done to it. Plenty of them including camels I bet.

Just a shame it took nearly 10 years to find him, with billions of dollars worth of military might at their disposal! I wonder if the grunts on the ground will get the $27,000,000 bounty!

And it has the added bonus of taking that wedding off the front of the on-line newspaper sites

Ironically it's our second wedding anniversary today. Double celebration for me!

The world is a better place without him, but don't kid yourself that it is any safer.
His followers will see it as "martyrdom at the hand of Crusader westerners" or some such, the likelihood of some act of reprisal is quite high.
I'd sooner see pictures of Pippa Middleton than that hairy face all over the news.

It took them long enough though eh? I bet if he didn't pay his TV licence they'd have had him within weeks!
