Don't worry mate
I'm not sure either except he was something to do with road haulage and I think he died recently??
Never heard of him until very recently

Garry, have you never played "Nobby & Stobby" on long motorway journeys?Garry Russell wrote:Don't worry mate

Stobart's rival company is Norbert Dentressangle, so basically you have two teams in the car and every time you spot a Stobart truck you shout "STOBBY!" and when you see a Norbert D truck you shout "NOBBY"!
Winner at the end of the journey is the team that scored the most views of 'their' trucks!
And, yes, Eddie Stobart died in March this year.

Oh god, England...
Re: Spitfire 'to go'
I'm starting to see what Dave B meant now. Harry Hill is spot on.
Re: Spitfire 'to go'
Last night's episode was far more interesting - repatriating 2 Stanier 8F steam locomotives from Eastern Turkey . They didn't need to invent drama for this one . I remember these Stanier 2-8-0s when they hauled iron ore trains from Birkenhead in the 1950s and even up to about 1967. You could hear them coming up a slight gradient from at least 5 miles away
Re: Spitfire 'to go'
The trailers for the series, (no pun intended- but their loads usually end up on one), show a Fairey Gannet (I think)....edit (oh as if by magic http://www.channel5.com/shows/monster-moves)
Episode 4 - Mammoth Machines
Two teams of movers race against the clock to relocate a submarine attack aircraft from Canada to America inside the world’s biggest cargo plane, and a huge snowplough locomotive up a mountain.
British Pilot Harry Odone returns to Goose Bay airbase, Canada to rescue a Fairey Gannet Submarine Attack he had to abandon here five years ago when its engines failed. Harry needs to transport the vintage British Royal Navy plane 2,500km on a jumbo journey to New Richmond Airport, Wisconsin where it will be restored to working condition.
This edition follows the team race against time to lift and load the aircraft into the world’s largest operating cargo aircraft on earth, the Antonov-124, to fly it to America.
In Oregon, we also follow leading heavy hauler Chris Arsenault attempt to transport a 70-year old snowplough locomotive up ‘Train Mountain’ to a hillside throne.Moving the 120-ton historic hulk up the super-steep terrain and along narrow roads is a huge challenge.
Will both mammoth machines survive the perilous journeys to their new homes?, going on a move somewhere.
Its not on next week. Some interesting prog about a building site in East London....(Stratford).
