The OTHER Provost

Post by DispatchDragon »

Keith Paines Percival Provost is now available at the Pond (www.britsim.com) library. Add Gary Jones superlative Single Alvis Leonides sound file and you have a wonderful experience.

If someone wants to post screenies please feel free -- and Peter Watkins will be releasing a comprehensive paint collection for the model in the next few days.

Its for Fs9 but nominal FSX

Yes indeed

The period radio a multi crystal VHF is located in the lower center of the panel and has a single dial with a window that has single letters in it.
If you look directly in front of you on top of the glare shield is a card with the VHF frequencies that correspond to the letters - totally prototypical.
Remember when the provost was introduced PAR/ASR approaches were the order of the day. But due to the limitations of Flight Sim if you wish to use
ATC , acknowledging a frequency change or assignment in the dialogue window will automatically tune the VHF radio to the correct frequency.

thats it

Seems it was a waste of time & effort creating the Provost Notes.pdf!
Anyway there is an update available to the Beta file that gives the option of removing the RH pilot from the VC if one wishes to fly solo, as well as having a missing texture & it also includes a modified aircraft.cfg file for FSX users.
Hope this helps one & all.

Keith - I can understand your frustration. Leif is far too patient; if it was me, I would have offered to go round to the chap's, and help him. On arrival, I would have stuck a bullhorn in his ear and yelled 'READ the F****** MANUAL'
Off now to install your plane, read the manual, and have a fly around. Thankyou for all your gifts to us.

Jimm, alias Auster driver has located my deliberate mistake in the update - I didn't issue a revised aircraft.cfg for FS9!
Anyway in order to get the 2nd dickie to disappear/reappear with the Tailhook command, you need to delete a couple of forward slashes at the bottom of the .cfg file that appear before the [Tailhook] entry! Also dont forget to allocate the necessary keyboard command!

Still cannot find the FSX wingfold answer in the portover - must be fundamental in the .mdl file for FSX.
