I do live in an exciting part of the UK
Carnival, collapse, collision...I'm beginning to think the Mayans were right.........

Edit: It appears there are fatalities in the M5 collision so apologies for sounding flippant and condolences to those involved. The carnival takes precedence and if the main roads in Bridgwater are closed then folks have to divert via the M5. The roads around me are closed and I have to show ID to gain access and parking......for a fecking carnival ?
Condolences...

EDIT*
Seems its one of the worst pile ups they have ever dealt with.
I know that stretch of the M5 is renowned for accidents.
My thoughts go out to all concerned.

Re: Condolences...
My original post sounds selfish....for that I apologise and offer my condolences to all those involved in what now has transpired to be a horrific collision.
My thoughts are with the families and friends of all concerned, the fatalities and those who have suffered 'traumatic life-changing injuries'. I know as well that emergency personnel at the scene and medical staff at local hospitals have been personally affected by the scale of the incident.
The carnival usually moves a couple of miles to North Petherton tonight but has been cancelled for the first time in 63 years due to the situation.
On a minor note a long section of the river wall in town is on the verge of collapse and access to the town centre is restricted as the bridge has been cordoned off.
All said and done, there is a quiet sombre air in this part of Somerset today.

Smoke from local firework celebrations and not fog now suspected as reason for sudden lose of visibility.
