Avsim

Post by steveh »

Am I the only one who can't get onto the avsim site? We have just got back from a month in Australia, and since we returned the site is blank and my web browser throughs a wobbly by retrying to connect. Basically, the avsim site opens but with no detail showing and clicking on the tabs produces no effect. Very strange!

Their homepage has totally changed recently, so it maybe worth clearing your cache & cookies.

Not wrong there Dave.. I didn't expect what came up. Thought I was on a different site  I remember it being tarted up a bit but I'm not a regular there and the current page is, as you say, another new one ;)

It says at the moment "At 10:30 a.m. this morning, EST (in about 30 minutes), we will be shutting down AVSIM for approximately 15 minutes. We are doing some system maintenance and will have the system back online in short order. Our apologies for the inconvenience."

not sure how that fits/fitted in with you trying, if it's an old or new message but could that be the reason?

I think they prefer Avsim.net as opposed to Avsim.com now although the second will send you to the first if you get my drift.

It's almost as if you are going to an old, discontinued version of the site

Have you tried googling Avsim, click the links and go where that sends you?

It might just be a different address *-) :dunno:
