Re: BRITSIM Status Updates
I've made the decision to have a good spring clean, please bear with me, I'm going to be getting rid of the years worth of redundant files which are littering the server.
Expect a total change, the downside being it'll be a few more days.
I hope it'll be worth it.
Rob.

Re: BRITSIM Status Updates
A quick update, it's coming on a treat (crosses fingers)
Following the incident last week I upgraded Joomla (the system the site runs) from a very outdated 1.5.15 to the latest 1.5 build, 25.
I've then decided, as it's been running that system base for years and years, there are literally thousands of unused and outdated files littering the server. Many of which pose a security threat.
I've been putting off moving to Joomla 2.5 as a base for some time, it's not an upgrade but a migration and involves a lot of work. That said it does offer a heck of a lot of features which weren't present in the old version. Decent access control levels and other things I had to hack into the old build.
I thought sod it, this will do an an excuse to move, copied all of the downloads to another folder and then deleted the lot!
The new site base is now working as it should and I am happy the file library database has copied over. The file library is now working on my test site and that's the main think I couldn't risk loosing. The user database is also copied so there will be no re-registration
It's now a case of getting it looking how I want and then getting a few other bits working. The support forums and links etc.
Thanks for your patience, I hope it'll be worth the wait.

Re: BRITSIM Status Updates
It's now functional, although not complete.
I've put it back online to enable people to access the library.
You can all be my beta testers if you don't so mind
