Re: Flight in a Junkers Ju-52
Great pictures Toby and very interesting...I have always been intrigued by the JU52 and all the various uses that it has been put to...I even remember a shot of it being used as a railway locomotive with the outer wings removed and fitted with flanged wheels to fit the rails.

Re: Flight in a Junkers Ju-52
Great shots Toby, we actually visited that monastery a few years back. I think I also had that museum on my to-do list but in the end visited the Verkehrshaus in Luzern instead. I need to go back I guess, if only for a chance to fly in a Ju-52!
Due to shortages and cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.

Fantastic pictures and a wonderful opportunity. Saw her parked up at Innsbruck a couple of years ago.
Re: Flight in a Junkers Ju-52
Toby, you lucky devil !! Splendid pics, and a splendid looking aeropane
Re: Flight in a Junkers Ju-52
Toby, great pictures. A Ju-52 is quite an aircraft to have in your 'log book' and above such spectacular scenery too.
Re: Flight in a Junkers Ju-52
Fabulous pics Toby, what an experience.I would include the Ju-52 as one of those aircraft I would love to have flown on.Others would include the Constellation,DC4-DC7,Statocruiser,Piston Provost and many others.I have managed to fly on others on my wish list such as the Rapide,DC3(several times), Convair440,Dove/Devon,Twinpin,in addition to the Varsity,Chipmunk and Anson when I was in the ATC.
I wonder what others would include in their wish list.

Re: Flight in a Junkers Ju-52
I have now (finally after about 6 months!) added a video of my flight. Shaky camera is because yes it vibrates like hell and it's quite turbulent up there in the mountains. I suspect one reason why the Ju-52 is still flying is because it transmits all turbulent motions to the passengers (unlike the Vickers Valiant which absorbed it all, creating fatigue cracks in the wings)
Enjoy

Very Nice Toby
...thanks for that
Quite a thing flying amongst mountains in a large aeroplane
As an aside to anyone interested in JU.52's..Revell have reissued the 1/48 scale model in BEA livery

Lovely video Toby.Reminds me of the opening scenes in the film version of 'Where Eagles Dare'.Riding in these old classics is a fabulous experience.
