If you look at FR at about 05:30BST you will seen 15 so Germans at anyone time all heading for Majorca.

They need to get there early to claim the sun loungers at the hotel

Dave, seeing the Tristar results from me owning a Kinetic SBS-1 and contributing to PlanePlotter data. As a result I not only get to see shared data similar to FR24 but also as a result of some fancy programming by an ex-pat in Portugal the ability to see aircraft that don't transmit position data. Using shared data provided by users, the program essentially triangulates the FlyBe ERJ190/BA 737-400/bizjets/helicopters, etc that don't show up on FR24. I'll post some screen shots soon.

I did pay a one off fee. For those who don't have the hardware but want the benefits, it is possible to have an annual subscription which (I think) gives the same data. I don't think the website makes this aspect clear! http://www.coaa.co.uk/planeplotter.htm

I actually saw a helicopter on FR recently...off Norfolk

Only one I've seen

For some odd reason one of the ATP's that doesn't transmit (G-BTPE) was shown stationary in the early hours recently over the middle of the SW Sahara...I think that is one of the oddities that show up and can be ignored

Or the crew were flying from Coventry to Jersey using my guide to Flight Sim navigation

They're using 15 at Brum again today and I noticed a rash of aircraft come in while I was over the common with the Champ. Didn't take the scanner with me and the sky is hazy enough to make recognition difficult but something came over Brian would have been proud of. I've never seen winglets like it! I'm sure it was a 738

Noticed 2 aircraft yesterday evening showing they were going to Stansted and both were heading SW over the channel. I think they were using Garry's navigation technique

Rather than start another thread on this topic, I thought it best to just add to this one.

At last I have figured out how to show the output of my virtual radar box on the web:

Bearing in mind that I am just outside Nottingham, a somewhat skewed output since I am on a hill with the area to the South East restricted by the higher part of the hill. But the reception to the North is pretty good.

The map part of the display is not as good as FR24 but the tabular display on the right might be of more interest.

The aircraft showing speed as part of their data will display on the map and are probably also visible on FR24.

It is those aircraft that don't show speed which are the "invisible" ones to FR24 since they do not transmit positional information. So that Gulfstream that just flew over appears in the list but not on the map!

Hi Ian,just viewed your website with no problems.You may have gathered already that I lived for many years in or near Nottingham and in order to visualize the topography I just wondered approximately which area or direction you are in.If you'd rather not say that's fine.EricT

I'm in Bingham. 10 miles E of Nottingham. Essentially at the junction of A46 and A52.
