Drunk Driver!!

Post by Nigel H-J »

Only the second time in 16 years that footage from my place of work has been shown to the public regarding an incident.

This occurred just after I came off duty so was not credited with it though I have caught many drink drivers in the past and no doubt will do in the future.

Scroll down to play.

Hi Nigel,

Saw this yesterday on the BBC news, never ceases to amuse me how bad drink drivers can get! Its good to see that they can get caught other ways!

It's one thing that never ceases to amaze me at work, people will not stop doing it, but then cry and create when they realise they're getting banned and most of them rely on driving to work!

This is one of the more unusual ones though!

We had a local case some years ago where the police found a damaged wall, a front bumper with the number plate and a wheel amongst the debris.

They followed the score mark to his address where they soon met another car that had been sent there after the plate trace.

This is yet another reason why motorbikes are safer than cars (if you take all the cars off the road that is). It's nigh on impossible to get home after losing a front wheel unless you do it on foot!

Yep drink drivers are bad! We once was called out to a drink driver who was in his mums car(without permission) had crashed it into a dyke (Ditch for those non country folks). He didnt want to get out claiming he was in such pain, we said OK we will take the roof off. He then said he would get out but then changed his mind. Went on like this for a few moments before we dragged him out!

A few days later the car was torched where it was left from that night!
