Hey now, *-) maybe we can petition thee Olympic Comity to add that to the games.

Quite the sporting event... If I do say so myself.:agree:

You'd win. I always have to save a slice for breakfast :(

I also don't understand cycling - even less after watching the road race :worried: But the way I understand it is: that as Team GB were obviously the best team and everybody knew they would win it was terribly unfair of the others not to let them. Honestly, if they'd sorted all this out beforehand they wouldn't have had to go to all the effort of riding up Box Hill eight times.

Ian :)

I thought the opening ceremony was fabulous - so much so that I've just watched the whole thing over again on BBC Iplayer. Not easy to keep an arena that size full of action but they did very well indeed. And the Queen taking an acting role too, blimey! That multi-tubed crucible that caught the Olympic flame and then rose up and gathered together was inspired. And the music...Elgar's Nimrod through to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, the wonderful Evelyn Glennie, and Macca who did a great job getting the whole stadium singing. Just brilliant from start to finish.

Watch for Danny Boyle in the New Year's Honours List, and deservedly so. :)

I am with "the Meldrews" . The bits I saw were the most embarrassing drivel I have ever seen , and painted a picture which ridiculed Britain

I don't get the Cavendish thing either, he was moaning about his team backing Wiggins to win the Tour de France more than backing him to win stages and the green Jersey. Who cares about the green jersey, you enter the TdF to win, to get the yellow Jersey. The Tour de France is the only cycling thing non-cycling people have ever heard of anyway and you are nothing until you do win it.

I wonder what he will think when Wiggins finishes ahead of him on the BBC Sports personality of the Year. :)
