A Day Out

Post by Tomliner »

You know how it is when you've had a really enjoyable, unplanned day.Well that's what happened today. As the weather was realy nice (for a change) we just headed north for an hour or so into Perthshire and ended up in the Auchterarder area.Magic.
Here are just a few piccies that I took today.Hope you like them.Any text will be above the relevant image.
Looking down Gleneagles Valley, with the Gleneagles Hotel in the distance and Auchterarder beyond.

The next three shots are of the Kinkell Brigde and the river Earn.

We decided to head back to Edinburgh via Perth but using backroads initially. The last two were taken along this route, with the final picture looking back Westwards towards the Trossachs.

It can p*ss down all it wants tomorrow...today you had a great time :excited:

Love the river, looks fairly tame in some pics but the weed shows otherwise

Thanks for sharing :)

Gorgeous photos, Eric, and stunning scenery. Wow!

I have to say, you certainly have an eye for a good photo. They are all very very good. I wonder, though, if the one of the road could be improved by cropping the bottom third off it? Or alternatively asking the present Mrs Tomliner to pose in the bottom right hand corner? Perhaps with a bicycle. Or a tractor  you know what I mean!

Ian :)

Hi Ian.Yes compositionally your suggestion is good but I took it purely as part of a record of an enjoyable day,one in which the choice of that road was significant. As for placing SWMBO in picture with a tractor, well it would be a pity to spoil the graceful lines of the tractor! :hide: (she's not looking)
Incidently I mentioned the names of some of the places that we had passed through to a few 'locals' here and drew blank responses! :) EricT

Great photos Eric. I enjoy these little photo-travelogues that appear in this forum from time to time.
