I had a good ride today despite the fact that my favourite woodland tracks are a still a greasy quagmire
No problems in the open, though and the wheat looks as though it will be ready for harvesting soon. All the fields seem to have a different shape and texture and I was taken by the geometric patterns in this first shot.

Lovely pics, Ian. I would gladly trade your greasy quagmire for the conditions here. We're in the midst of a prolonged drought here, which has been fantastic for the cyclists but doesn't help the agriculturalists. I guess a positive is I haven't had to mow the lawn since early July.

I know what you mean, Chris! It's three days since it rained here! I think it's the longest drought since May. Fortunately they are predicting that it will break on Monday and the harvest may be salvaged.
