Yes, it is charming, isn't it?

Lovely sharp and colourful shots, Peter. It's a great place to base yourself for exploring the PNW. I hope you're feeling a bit better about the scenery now.

On the ORBX forum is the Pacific North West Flying Club which bases itself at Bowerman and they meet up Lana's cafe for a coffee and a chat. Not for real, but online flying, which is rather a nice idea, that you can fly in and see who's about.

I'll anticipate your next question, Peter! Where's the AI? If you go to Bowerman in FSX you'll see plenty of GA action using default FSX aircraft but in P3D there are only static a/c. I've only had time for a quick look at the reason and no time to do anything about it yet, although it looks reasonably straightforward.

In FSX there is a traffic BGL for Bowerman utilising default GA aircraft but that file doesn't appear to get migrated to P3D. If you do copy it and paste it in to P3D it still doesn't do much because P3D lacks the default Cessnas from FSX. Apparently they weren't included in the sale due to license restrictions! So the BGL needs decompiling and new aircraft allocated to it to populate Bowerman.

There is a bigger AI problem with P3D which they're aware of but give it a low priority at the moment. The global traffic file that they have inherited also links to non-existent aircraft but also has a high number of VFR flights which do not show up. I improved the number of GA aircraft by recompiling the flight-plans and auto find/replace VFR with IFR. There are so many flights that it took 4 hours!

So the AI solution could be just to recompile the aircraft section and relink to the FSX aircraft or copy the aircraft into P3D. I think it's straightforward but I can't see me getting round to it for a few weeks.

Ian :)
