What A Day..

Post by Tomliner »

I had to go into town this morning which considering that it was a bit of a grey old day wasn't really too bad,but the weather slowly improved and so I decided get the bus home, pick up my camera and go for a walk.I'm so glad that I did.
These were taken along the Water of Leith Walkway in a dell in the Currie area of Edinburgh

Image

You can see that the pathway is the trackbed of an old railway.I have biked along it many times

The previous two pics were taken from a bridge over the walkway, but I then went down onto the path for the next shots.

Image

Having taken the previous shot I waited for someone to appear on the scene as I thought it would make a better pic.I didn't ask what was in the polythene bag!

Image

Then these two appeared. This time I was pleased not to be on my bike

Image

The last two shots were taken as I started to walk home

On the way home I called at the local pub for a couple of pints to finish off a lovely afternoon! Thanks for looking EricT :)

Lovely!

There's several old railway lines near me and the way the light hits them sometimes makes me think "I wish I had a clue how to take decent pictures"

Wonderful pictures, they truly warmed my heart!
Was surprised to see a bit of haze(?) in the sunlight, in a couple, other pics seem to show very clear air.
Cheers, Mike.

Eric, you've excelled yourself this time. Every one of those is totally exquisite. Perfect shots.

I can't think of anything else to say that does them enough credit. I'm almost looking forward to a time when I'm too old for mountain biking so I can go walking and do some proper photography to try and catch up!

Very well done, mate

Ian :)

Many thanks for looking and for the comments.Due to the earlier weather, it was one of those unplanned for, unexpected events that made it so enjoyable. :) EricT
Edit,PaulC you don't need a top line camera, mine isn't,the picture is in the eye.As you' ve already mentioned,it's the quality and angle of the light that can transform any ordinary scene into something magical and,as always, being in the right place at the right time. That's where luck comes in!
ps luck played a part here because I almost always take my camera with me even when going into town.On this day I forgot but if I had have taken it,as the weather improved I would have stayed in town instead of going home for that stroll :agree:
