There is no need to re-install Gen-X. Leave it where it is and after installing FSX, just add the areas to the scenery library.

My Gen-X has been copied between two machines more times than I have had hot dinners ;)

Compare these shots of the Needles in GenX, with that earlier one of the Needles in ORBX. For me, it's no contest!

Dave,

If you uninstall the FTX PNW demo, there's an uninstaller you should download from the same place as the demo.

http://fullterrain.com/product_demos.html

And check that the Traffic_Bowerman.bgl is deleted from scenery/world/scenery if you suspect an AI problem.

Hello Mate :)

Yes, I know about the uninstaller. Not been back to get it though. There IS a problem with AI at Bowerman as it happens.. I noted a few times dual flights.. aircraft labels super imposed over one another making the lettering look overly red. You wouldn't notice it (of course) without labels on. I've had them on for a week or so while checking what other stuff was doing and didn't turn it off. I'd not have known otherwise as I never listen to ATC :)

I don't think whatever is going on there with AI is causing a problem though. I never once saw the runtime issue there but can guarantee seeing it since installing FTX England. There is no uninstaller for that either as far as I can see. Perhaps they never expected anyone to want to uninstall it :worried:

It's easy enough to uninstall, Dave. I don't think there are any traffic bgls to look for with England, so just delete the main ORBX folder.
ORBX FAQs wrote:To completely uninstall all ORBX products, FIRST set FTXCentral to [Default]

- Browse to your main FSX folder, and delete the ORBX folder
- Browse to FSX\Scenery\World\Scenery and delete any ORBX/NRM/PFJ/PNW titled files

And then delete any orbx icons etc.. on the desktop

Done!

Hello,

@511Flyer: Now you got me teased. Could you spill the hardware specs of your system? And this is GenX VFR 3.0 by Horizon and what else...?
thanks

Hi chaps, i have some shots from last nights flight, got som screenies of Kilder from ORBX and UTX, ill post these up tonight...

Had a bit of a ply last night with turning off ORBX and turning UTX back on, must say UTX does look a bit pants compaired to ORBX.

So ORBX is back on, however im still getting some blurries and the autogen issue. I seem to notice these more in the King Air than the Milviz F-15 for some reason. Had a good bombing session at Wainfleet flying the old patter over Boston and noticed another River thats missing, the bed is there as it sinks into the ground but no water...

I think I would be extreamly happy if i they fixed the missing rivers and right tree types for regions etc and sort out the autogen issue as it looks much better than just UTX...

Hi!

GenX plus The Needles by Earth Sims. The very same team that have joined with ORBX to produce their UK. It's free.

Not sure if that's the UKMIL Bucc which is free, or the Flying Stations version which isn't. Both very good.

Den.

Latest news from Earth Sims is that they are working on adding 3D objects to GenX scenery. Information dated yesterday. Where does that leave ORBX?

:dunno:
