A Bit More Real?

I've probably mentioned previously that one of my favourite non British FS aircraft is the LevelD 767-300.However long flights don't really appeal as I soon become bored so I like to stick to short haul eg.Heathrow to Edinburgh and back etc but I felt that although the 767 can do short haul,it is cheating a bit.
Anyway the upshot of all this waffle is that I see that BA are using their 767s on this route just now.This makes me feel a bit less of a 'fraud'.
It must depend on the level of demand,as they are still use their Airbuses as well,maybe after the cessation of BMI on this route.So it is a bit more real for me anyway! :agree: EricT
Now at the age where I know I like girls but can't remember why!

That's handy then Eric! We know what you'll be doing this weekend instead of going out in the wind and rain taking photos :lol:

How about some screenshots? I quite like the 767 as it's not too big and not too small and is just as happy on short or long flights. And perhaps it won't be long before it becomes an honorary classic :worried:

They use them on London Madrid daily for a couple of years now and other European routes too. A single machine works back and forth on the European routes designated to that route for a few days and then gets replaced by another. Almost as if it's a seperate operation within the normal operations and whichever aircraft is on that route it's theirs to plod back and forth.

They were used on some from the time the 757 were retired and they were quite HD routes.

Hi Ian,screenings are something I've never really tried.I understand that FRAPS is one type of software to use,or is there something better.
Garry Flightradar24 shows The 767-336 in use which I presume will change when Virgin start plying the route next year.EricT

When I was down at Heathrow in September they were saying that all of the 767 were being refitted with a new interior (I counted 6 at the hangers at the East end of 27R)

Hi Ben,there's life in the old girl yet!I was pleasantly surprised to see how any of them are still flying the Atlantic.I imagine that many of them may have been upgraded.Am I right in thinking that there are 767-400s as well? :hello: EricT

Now your asking mate, I've no idea. There was just a bit of blurb in "HighLife" - The BA inflight mag about them and when I was landing, there they all were. It was dark when I landed and one was in the hanger with the door open and a few folk beavering away on her, the others where outside. :)

There is a 767-400 but not in the BA fleet :)

Longer range, longer fuse and different shape pax windows.

Also, I think, a different coloured knob on the gear stick *-)

SevenSix's are common place across the pond mate. My cousin flew LHR to SFO on one courtesy of United (a 763). Can't remember how old it was but it was either 9 or 19yo. OK.. so it went tech at LHR and cost them a delay of over 3hrs (most of which was taken up doing the paperwork for it not the repair itself) then a few days later, they flew one to Hawaii (which also went tech.. onboard media so no film!). Many are ex-Continental but they've loads of the tinkers in service. Not sure how much longer they'll be keeping them though. The 7Late7 is a similar size so would be a fitting replacement me thinks :)

I know exactly where you're coming from I have the Capt Sim 757 but end up doing short-haul as the middle-bit bores me!
