One of the issues with FS.X is it's so complex and time consuming compared to earlier version

Everyone (except me) wants a VC so that's the project doubled for starters.

It's too much for one man really and teams of specialists need to get together.

I could do nothing without Fraser and the input of others.

FS.X just compounds that.

Even with the source code the amount of rework to FS.X standard would probably see little increase in developers.

The backwards compatibility attempt although well intentioned has been a bane for developers. There is a strong demand for it to work in both sims. People see wonderful things that are the FS.X advancements and want an FS.9 version of that too. other people take it on themselves to produce FS.X versions of others work leaving the original author with a mire of unhappy simmers.

It would have been so much easier to have one or other, but both to a certain extent is the worse scenario. OK if the shortcomings were accepted but they are not.

Ridiculous to complain a certain thing does not work in FS.X mooting the author has somehow failed when it is an FS.9 model, but that is what's happened.

OK Folks here don';t behave like that, but it does happen.

Team products and specific sims, in my opinion, are the way forward.

On a plus side...there is bound to be a good freeware Boeing 737 sometime :)

I can reassure you Garry, if anyone feels like building an new Belfast / Vanguard / Viscount with only a 2D panel (up to the standard of Mr. McKay's) I'll be a very very happy man indeed

Thanks, Paul. A nice shiny brand new website. That looks positive!

My scepticism was unfounded I'm pleased to say :)
