Another exercise that's often overlooked by the 'so-called experts' is REM - rapid eye movement during dreams. That burns up shedloads of calories - with the added benefit that you should be asleep and storing energy ready for the exercise of getting up!

Is that why I always wake up feeling tired? This keeping fit lark seems to follow me around like the plague.. I'm often fighting a losing battle trying to keep ahead of it

It's all to do will lifestyle planning.

For example the fish chip shop is just round the corner so I walk there and back.

If I get double chips that's heavier, so I'll burn more calories carrying them home
