Years ago i used to collect Post Office first day covers, i have a few interesting ones left like the First Flight of Concorde, the maiden voyage of the QE2 posted from on board, a flight cover of the first commercial flight of the Airbus 380 and a few other flight covers etc,
Back in the 1970/80's there used to be some nice stamps being brought out but at the end of the 80's the Post Office were bringing them out like confetti and personally i thought the designs were rubbish so i finished collecting,
Anyway the "Just a Thought" is that next Wednesday it will be the 12-12-12
Cheers,
Roger.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
It must mean something Roger though what, God only knows
Funny you mention stamps as I see rather a lot of them at the NWMMC (a posh set of letters for the sorting office at Wolverhampton) The day before yesterday, I saw a set with Emmerdale on giving the times it was on over Christmas. Whatever next!

Well, without wanting to go all hippy on you ... the natural lunar calendar has 13 months (or moons) of 28 days adding up to 364. Which gives one day over for a big piss up every year. I don't know who thought up the idea of ignoring the lunar cycle and dividing the year into 12 but it was probably a pope or an emperor or something.
So ignore the Gregorian calendar, it's nonsense We should all be celebrating the Mayan calendar. Oh wait ...
Just a thought on the Mayan Calendar thingy.......they may be right....just checked on my Calendar hanging on the wall and THAT ends in December 2012 too........
