From the builder who gave us the wonderful Grumman Duck comes the Yak 18. Frankly, I'm surprised the guy wanted anything to do with flightsim after the Duck fiasco. A post on Sim Outhouse (see link below) states that a native FSX model will be released after the FS2004 model. I'm flying her in FSX (I love the canopy animation) and she only needed a couple of tweaks which you can find in the Sim Outhouse link. Any who, here's the link for the aircraft which is now in beta.

The author has just released an updated native FSX only version on flightsim.com.

Well I'm not surprised ....he looks to be trying to get his own backFlyTexas wrote:Frankly, I'm surprised the guy wanted anything to do with flightsim after the Duck fiasco.
This is clearly a copy of the PayWare Boeing 707
Seriously
I am surprised after that fiasco ...there was never any doubt in the minds of anyone who had even glance both that they were two entire different models and this authors was, without doubt the superior creation.
This looks nicely made too and a credit to him and a bonus for everyone that he has continued.
The ribbing looks nicely done in particular

And now you have the option of English labels on the instruments...for those who can't read acrylic.

Hi Chaps...
This looks a wonderful AC. Was looking at the links too...really high quality stuff.... Erm... what happened with "the Duck fiasco"..or is it only to be spoken of in hushed tones?
Cheers

Re: Yak 18 (beta) FS2004/FSX
This chap brought out a Duck and a PayWare company claimed it was a copy of theirs. It was clearly not and later proved.
It got quite nasty for a while.
I don't really want to go into detail here as that serves no real purpose, but it is a matter of published public record.

Hi Garry...
OK, thanks. That's cleared that up. Sounds like it was quite serious. I'll ask no more.
Thanks
