BAC 1-11 Data Base

Post by Dev One »

November issue of Aeroplane Monthly has the BAC 1-11 DataBase.
There is also a good write up on the Great Oakley Proctors.

It was a reasonable attempt to cover the 1-11 story. The sub-heading of the second section suggested the the 1-11 was designed as user-friendly for "those who maintained it". As someone who was licenced on the 1-11 and was a certifier of the BCAL fleet I took issue with this and it prompted me to write to the magazine to give them the realities of 1-11 maintenance. Anyway my letter has been published in the February edition as 'Letter of the Month'!

My 'reward' for this is one of those 10 min helicopter flights alongside a Spitfire or Hurricane.

It was the usual sort of DB from them

Full or glaring errors and inaccuracies in the drawings.
