OK, a bit of VC-news!
Apparently Toby, the retirement date has been put back from March to September, due to 'delays' with the Voyagers. Although, a report on our local news more recently said the delays wouldn't stop them coming into service on time. Infact two are already in service, but only on transport ops at the moment.
The first VC10 to be delivered to the RAF, XR..807 or 808, is now the only C.1K still flying and will be preserved at Cosford, and either XV106 or 108 should be kept taxiable at Brunters. All four K.3s and the remaining K.4 are still in service, bringing the remaining VC10 strength to a mere six!
You might be lucky at RIAT as one is earmarked to be...FLYING there!
