XM603 on BBCs Racing Legends

Post by John »

It's such a shame to see the state she is in...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/tv/bbc_two ... /watchlive

Go to about 20.35

But I suppose I should be pleased that she still exists (at least for now)

Kind regards

John

Well John, where's there's life there's hope.

I can't run the vid atm but from recent news .....

A couple of years ago they were talking about scrapping her any day, now the talk is of her being cleaned up :)

Sadly, although the white looks very smart when pristine, it does not weather well, so she's probably not as bad as she looks

I remember years ago driving from Edinburgh down to Woodford with my old wet film Canon 300. I didn't have a zoom lens in those days so I managed to find a track that ran along the fence at one point and I've what is pretty much a while spec in the distance. I actually thought she'd been scrapped a few years ago now, so surprised to see her in one piece.

That program looked good too, I'll watch it on iPlayer later. I remember watching Jimmy McRae in the Opel Manta i400 when I was young, now that was a great tarmac rally car before the RS500.

Image I don't have TV License.

'I got a education in TV License though.

*A blind concession TV Licence costs £72.75 for colour and £24.50 for a black and white TV Licence.

Now that's something they should scrap. Not a poor homeless aeroplane.

Hi Joe, :hello:

Can of worms mate.

Maybe the citizen's of Boston, Lincolnshire, could have a party and throw their TVs in the Wash. :bandit:

Jon

P.S. There's a TV subscription here too which goes to the RAI. €113.

When you think what you get for your £12 a month, its certainly much better value than any sort of pay per view package

Good point Ben.

But then they should be better given the guaranteed 3.6 billion pounds they get each year freeing them up from having to pander to advertisers and interrupt programming to show adverts. It rather goes against the free market and fair competition ideals of the current British government though.

I'm in the wrong place to criticise and really I should thank you guys in the UK for paying the UK TV tax allowing me to listen to BBC radio and have the BBC website as my home page for free.

Whilst looking up how much the Beeb get from the licence fee I discovered that an estimated 40% of Italians don't pay the equivalent here. The maximum fine is about half the cost of the licence fee. *-)
