We've had a few at LNA. Last year a person tried to steal a plane.
He had taken a few flight lessons at the school there, - and then, One day.

He he runs a muck, . -steals a jag or something from a valet station in Palm Beach -
chauffeur's himself to the airport, hops in a plane, starts it with his stolen set of keys.
and promptly drove the plane straighway, across the ramp, into another plane.
gets out and runs away.

They found him.
He's on some funny farm I'd imagine. Apparently he'd been "out of trim" for some time.

As soon as the report of the incident was released to the public.
The media topped all that insanity by going on camera and saying things the general population don't need to be concerned with.
Like:
Alerting the whole world that there were two open pedestrian pathways onto the airfield for night time operations.... and so annyyOne could just stroll onto the airfild
... Just as it had been since the airport was put in place,... back in the 1936 .
Idiots.

Two gates were later installed ... 8)

Now, all the sane people and their property are in a cage :agree: and the wack jobs are out running free. :agree: yeah

Gates don't stop these people!

Given the C.C.T.V. images shown of the offenders, it won't be long before they are arrested but as far as sentences go, don't hold your breath. Just mindless vandalism, they should be made to pay for the damage regardless of how long it takes!!

Like Roger,
I can't type what I feel.
I can only add my voice to the outrage at such stupidity.
And Joe,
This seems to often happen, law abiding folk suffering due to actions of a minority.
Cheers, Mike.

When caught these people will be jailed or given some sort of restraining order, but it should go further.

in adition to the above, they should pay for all the damage and cover all the cost of what the damage incurred with loss of business and hiring replacements etc.

The they should have all their personal possessions piled up in the town square and be given a hammer to publicly smash up their own stuff.

That way, they should be left with no money and no possessions as often their victims are.

Totally agree with Garry,Nigel etc. These b@stards have no fear of being caught,in fact it boosts their street cred with their moronic mates. One problem is that there are too many apologists for these scumbags, often with vested interests in maintaining the crime levels.Obvious ones are lawyers and judiciary but think of all the legitimate jobs preserved because of crime. In this instance, all of the damage will have to repaired, stolen goods replaced etc.Let's not forget our caring insurance companies who will bump up their premiums from which the government takes VAT!
Don't look to politicians to sort this out.I seem to recall that a large number of them are lawyers or solicitors so for them to introduce real deterrents would be liKe asking Turkeys to vote for Christmas. EricT

I attended a few local neighbourhood meetings and gave up going in the end. Being ex Police I got fed up with listening to local Constab regaling us with reasons why they can't do anything. However when talking about graffiti I suggested why don't they give the little dears a CSO and give them a bucket and soap and make them clean it up. No they cannot do that if one of them hurts themselves they may get sued. Same goes for litter etc. Hower local yob trashed garden and an arrest and caution soon followed of the MOP who caught them. Despite witnesses saying he did not assault the little scrote.

I sometimes am ashamed to admit I used to be in the Police
