I wonder if that device will travel to the Colonies. I certainly hope not.

Nigel, if they take the time to leave old seats in place of the orginals, that would be a little amazing. ;)

Thanks Peter,
Nigel, if it hasn't appeared in other places yet, you won't need to hold your breath too long before it does.
Cheers, Mike.

From next January, I think it will be the least of our problems. Border and visa controls across the EU are being opened to the very poor countries of Bulgaria and Romania. There are only guesses as to how many will flood to the UK due to the easy access to it's benefits and social housing system. Organised crime gangs are expected to be in the forefront and with the police already struggling I think we should start considering our property to be 'shared assets'

To show how fickle remotes can be, whenever I visit my local pet shop I am unable to use the remote as somthing is 'jamming' it. :dunno: I always use the mechanical lock.

Nev
I know that if my remote doorbell Tx is transmitting I cannot lock/unlock my car....seems its on the same 425.something or other MHz frequency - Also some areas have mobile phone Tx's that can interfere, possibly on a multiple?

Ian
I wonder if that will also apply to our politicians whose deference to Brussels is responsible for this?
Don't hold your breath. The government as usual are very reluctant to talk about this, seemingly more interested in promoting gay marriage.B@st@rds  EricT

Why does anyone want to use remote?

I don't even trust central locking. I lock every door manually as and when I need :dunno:

Hi Garry,
Some users think it's cool, some use it 'cos it's there.
The very idea frightens me, like what happens if the vehicle goes into a river, pond? Does everything short out and lock you in?
I had to move my then boss' car one hot day. Couldn't work out how to open the flipping windows. Was glad to get out.
I'm telling everyone I meet, about this scam. Thanks again Peter.
Cheers, Mike.

Maybe I'm a bit old fashioned, but I just like to do it myself and I know it's done rather than rely on some other means that seems to be in my control but isn't.

Bit like my painting, I always call in the alpha channel and not rely on it being called straight in, I've seen too many disasters from folk who didn't get what they expected.

Just because you lock your car with a key doesn't make smashing a window any harder

At least if they just open the door you haven't got to clean up the mess and pay for new glass. Perhaps they're just being thoughtful?

Last time I was in Vancouver, I read an advisory in a tourist mag in the hotel. It said that if you hired a car don't even leave loose change or cigarettes in it as the zombies would break in just for that.

My advice is to booby trap it with a bomb but I'll bet they've even made that illegal nowadays ... :worried:
