Puttin on the Ritz...

Puttin' on the Ritz ... in Moscow
What a crazy, delightful ever changing world!
Who could have thought that in 2012 young people
in Moscow would put on a "flash mob"
happening, dancing to an 83 year old American song
written by a Russian born American-Jew
(Irving Berlin) whose last name is the capital of Germany...

Thanks for posting that link Peter! I also like Puttin' on the Ritz . One thing is certain: You would not have seen that in the USSR 83 years ago! :agree:

Great find Peter!
Had me tapping my feet!
Is a "flash mob" rehearsed, or are they all fantastically quick at spontaneously catching on?
If I sound stupid, it's because:
a) I am.
and
b) I've never seen anything like this.
Cheers, Mike.

Hello Mike,

I'm glad i am not the only one that had not seen these and i thought i had seen most things,

Since seeing that clip from Peter i have looked on Youtube and found some more, apparently they do rehearse as most of them come from dance schools and colleges.

Have a look Mike at the one from New York at nite on Youtube.

Lovely to see everyone enjoying it,

Roger.

Thanks Peter

It was reminiscent of a video you posted some time ago. The flash dance Cental Station Antwerp (Belgium).

I kinda like the Belgium one better (?), in that the music started as a background music before the dancers causing a bit more
curiosity from the peeps....

Here is a link to that video

Hi Joe,

Thanks for posting that, it reminded me although not quite like that at the station but back in the 1980's i was in Zeebrugge Belgium one week with my Truck waiting to board the ferry back to Dover and a group called Incantation were also waiting to board and started to play in the waiting room,

It was fantastic to hear and see every one enjoying the music and some impromptu dancing, i found this of the group,
