Not normally what I would post here, but I defy anyone to watch this short vid and not be moved by it.Must be getting soft in my old age!
Female golden Labrador with a little Down’s Syndrome boy who has likely never seen a dog up close before.
The dog is so gentle and keeps trying to engage the child.
What a beautiful animal!

Hi Eric,
My eldest brother's fourth child is Downs. His name is Russell.
I'd lay a pony down he can out shoot anyone here from outside the three point line.

Liked the video,
Cheers,
Joe

Lots of oohs and aahs from my daughter. Our Lab had her 12th birthday yesterday and was sitting watching me, very Labrador like, with her Paddington Bear toy in her mouth while I showed that clip to the girls. It's dinner time

And i reckon that Dog knows the boy is 'different'. A sixth sense that all dogs (animals) have...it just knows.

They do pick things up like that. We used to get a minibus at the pub every now and again with special needs folk.. a trip out if you will. They were never a bit of trouble although their carers must have had the patience of Jobe! They spooked my Lab something terrible. She never had any physical contact with them and was always out of the bar when the pub was open but she knew they were in. Some gun dog hey!
