BOULTON PAUL RAF BALLIOL - FS9
Hi folks
I'm pleased to announce that our latest model - the Balliol T2 RAF version is now available in the Britsim library for downloading.
Thanks as usual go to my collaborators - Brian Horsey (FDE) and Martin Pengelly (photos, manuals etc.) for their invaluable input.
The beta testers tell me it performs quite nicely in FSX as well, with the usual provisos.
Cheers

It's a lovely model Dave. Thanks for adding a different glass texture for FSX too. I couldn't see out of the FS9 glass.. well I could but it was a bit 'chav like' Love the panel too.. cranky and typical of it's day
Managed a trap on Ark Royal at my first attempt with the FS9 glass and the end result wasn't pretty. Suffice it to say.. thank goodness the island stopped me getting wet It was NOT one I'd have walked away from though

Glad you like the old bus chaps. A classic British aircraft of its time if ever there was one.
As I don't run FSX here I rely on others to tell me what needs changing to make the models more FSX-friendly.
Some things can be accomodated, some can't.
In the case of the glass I am indebted to Keith (DevOne) who produces files like the FSX glass texture etc. for us.

Oh I forgot to say that the next aircraft will be a

Naval version is my choice and very nice it is, the only bugbear is the prop in FSX, a cloud chopper which will I probably be the same on the RAF version.
Not a big deal but it is there, I am no expert but my thoughts are that it is in the model rather than the textures, just a observation not a biggy for me as I spend little time outside
Many thanks
Rich

Oh Dave you tease....
Re: BOULTON PAUL RAF BALLIOL - FS9
The prop issue - I thought the draw-order problem was an inescapable consequence of running a FS9 model in FSX.
If there is a cure out there, please, please someone let me know.
It won't put anything right this time, but at least I'll be able to make the next model a bit better.
Cheers

Dave..
I thought it was a draw-order issue too mate. I don't know of any FS9 model that doesn't do this in FSX.. some show it less.. that's the best you can ask for. As it happens, I didn't notice it at all yesterday when flying around the south coast so hats off for that It will depend very much on the scenery you're flying in and around though
I have the RN version too btw.. not surprising is it

I have had some success by swapping textures, but it doesn't cure the z-buffer problem.
