Before any of you watch this.. I urge you to turn your volume down. 633Sqn.. while a great bit of music, has no place on this video :wall:

I know Rog.. you weren't getting the blame

I just can't get my head around why folk do this. Put a soundtrack on it by all means but 633Sqn on a video about Kai Tak :dunno: The mind boggles 8)

Dave,I suspect that those who make such predictable and unimaginative choices are from the same stable as reporters who have to compare the relative size of something to a number of football pitches or London buses!!and why only London buses, are they a different size to those of other cities or towns? To$$ers! :wall: EricT

You're undoubtedly right Eric and to add salt to the wounds.. those folk get paid for this drivel 8) I was amused by reporting when the first A380's came here. On that occasion, they didn't use London buses as a means of measurement but Lancaster bombers. Imaginative.. certainly but relevant.. certainly not :dunno:

There's an Alitalia MD-11at Kai Tak vid on you tube somewhere, where there is a rather rapid "50,40,30,20" followed by a Whoah! from the skipper and a bank angle warning!

yes, "A Hundred Million Miracles" from Flower Drum Song may be more appropriate after watching those landings!

The landing speed of a 747-400 is 130-160 kts. Concorde was almost always 160, so not much in it especially if the 747 was heavy

Concorde coming down the approach, very nose high and light at the end of a trip seems nearer to the 747, but the take off speed of Concorde was much higher.
