VC10 tail

Post by paul26may »

Believe it or not I want to build a life size replica of a VC10 tail for my back garden! :excited: Could the RAF let me have one when they start scrapping the fleet?

Why on earth would you want a Tail?

Get a Cockpit cut about twenty feet behind it and you have somewhere to sleep if you get thrown out

Cheers,

Roger.

I've moved this to E&S Paul as it's not exactly flightsim :)

The tail is beautiful but... why choose the one part that was built in France ?

Irrespective of where it was built it is surely the most distinctive part - and the most prominent - hence why I want one in my back garden! By the way Dave I work from home, in the UK. Does that make any difference?

I think Dave was referring to you saying when they start scrapping when there are only four left to go...that is have you been living in a cave the other side of the earth

Would you not need difficult to get planning permission?

I knew they were going to start scrapping them this year but didn't realise they had started in earnest. Wouldn't you think the RAF would donate one to a museum like the one at EGCC?

I think.....two at least are earmarked. One for static and one live at Brunty...but so much too and froing gets done on info banded about it's getting dizzy

They have been scrapping the fleet quite progressively for a few years now it seems....certainly nothing recent about the commencement.

What I meant to say was retiring the fleet altogether as opposed to scrapping those remaining. I realise the latter has been going on for some time.
