Another shaggy dog tale?

In your application to council, just describe it as a "Weather vane without yaw." That should do.
Cheers, Mike.

Put wheels on it and it becomes a mobile garden feature :)

Got a further communique from GJD this morning:

Morning Paul, lets start with the scrap value which is about £5000.00, add to that a crane and slings, time taken to remove the tail plane, and time taken to remove the fin (we have done one before).
The last fin we did using the correct tooling and staging took about 3 days for 4 guys, and I would assume similar for the tail plane.
So an initial ball park would be around the 25K mark.
If that is within your budget, I will look more closely at the costing's and methodology !
Oh and its a big lump to move by road so we may have to split the tail plane.
Kind regards Gary

Oh dear. :(( 8) :guinn: :guinn: :guinn: :guinn: :guinn: :guinn:

I had a feeling in my water that it was never going to go for a song. Perhaps 25K is a bit steep but it was always going to be in the thousands, not the hundreds.

Better start saving those egg boxes and matchsticks mate ;)

I thought about £5k myself. A few years ago a pub landlord from Manchester bought the Vulcan at Squires Gate for, if my memory serves me correct, £10k. His plan was to put it in the beer garden but I think there was an issue with transporting it so he gave up. :guinn: :guinn: :guinn: :guinn: :guinn:

SOH? Is that the Society of Homeopaths? Don't think they'll have a VC10 tail and fin but you never know these days. :worried:
