BTW, A little birthday quiz: why was it a good idea to have a boozer on board during WWll?
No attempts.
The answer is: Boozer was the colloquial for a detecting device fitted to RAF bombers, to warn the pilot that his aircraft was on enemy fighter radar. Apparently there was so much radar in German skies, that the warnings became like the boy crying "wolf", so Boozer was often switched off to reduce the distraction of unwanted lights on the instrument panel.
Cheers, Mike.
