Thanks again for the support.

Its been a very surreal day to say the least.

Came into work. Spoke to numerous people who were asking all sorts of things about the new job. Many of whom had no idea I had resigned.

I think because everything has happened so quickly, its probably helped in the departure process being easier to swallow.

Weird to think; that's it, game over. I've had thirteen fantastic years. Seen the highest and lowest forms of human nature and witnessed all kinds of crazy behaviour. Its been fun and have no regrets whatsoever.

Worked in a brilliant place with a fantastic bunch of people and couldn't have asked for any more.

So for me now, I have a few days off. Going away for a week with the family to relax, unwind and prepare for a new start.

I've really enjoyed reading everyone's comments and hearing peoples thoughts throughout the whole process.

Good luck Eddie , just catching up on the saga from last 2 weeks . Congratulations on getting the new job , sounds just like any transport industry ... '' can u start yesterday as there won't be any more courses for a year ! '' This is better than ''The Archers'' ...........Strange how no one has mentioned Train Sims ! Are they any good ? Might be an Idea to get ahead of the course . I know fs is an help for conversion courses and 6 monthly sims ... 'specially if you are long haul ...and / or old !
Eddie , do you have to start with shunting , short haul and then when senior enough .. go onto long haul ? ...wot about freight ? And on days off there's always Thomas and steam specials .
Great to find out that your contribution is valued , and they would welcome you back . That's a big pat on the back from a large organisation , and rare to receive it . Thanks and pats seem to come more readily in small outfits ... as do brickbats .

As an outsider fully agree with Garry's post 15th April .

Good luck and enjoy the course , we're all envious ; 'cos wot did we all want to do when we were 3 ?
