Just For Fun(3)

Post by Tomliner »

Afew more what/where is it.The first three are on a shorthaul flight in 1996.As a bit of help, the third shot was taken on the descent into East Mids.
Ben,you'd better not look out of the window on the first one.
The remaining ones were taken in 1995 on a longhaul flight.I've included a (rather naff) shot on the flight deck which should help with identifying the type.

These views were taken in sequence as the flight progressed

Yep, first one is I think a Fokker 100, great little airplane and I suspect that's Schipol.

Schipol was my first and only thought, but I don't know it that well so couldn't really say *-)

A bit of info and a another clue might help.
Yes Ben and Garry are correct in identifying the F100 and Schipol. In the third pic the aircraft would probably have been at about FL 80/70ish.
The route on the next four pics was from Gatwick to Perth WA,which might help a bit. :) EricT
ps,look carefully at the lower part of pic4,you should just be able to see a bridge. You might also be able see a bridge in pic5

No,the type is a 767-200 of Britannia. I think it was just before they started taking delivery of the 300 series. The date of departure was 2/11/95 and the flight required two fuel/ crew change stops, first at Dubai(IIRC) and next at Singapore.
The views shown in pic4 is the Bosphorus at Istanbul which was a little further away than it seems because I used a moderate zoom lens.
Pic 5 shows the island of Penang off the west coast of Malaysia.Geeorge town, the capital, can be clearly seen.
The inlet in pic 6 is Shark Bay,about 500 miles north of Perth.
Finally and rather less exotic, pic 3 was in the descent over Leicester. :) EricT
