The spelling lesson

Post by Airspeed »

Somewhere in rural England........
An English teacher invited a history teacher out, and as he was rather good looking, and always pleasant at work, she accepted.
As they walked down her front path to his car, he pushed in front of her, got in the car, then let her in.
" 'Ees a rude'n," she thought.
At the restaurant, he did the same, then ordered for himself before even asking what she wanted.
"I've a mind to tell 'im to tak' me home" she thought.
Then off to the cinema, he in through the door first, bought himself some snacks, then asked what she wanted.
"I want thee t' act like a gentleman" she thought.
After the film, he was totally different, ushering her ahead of him, opening doors and letting her through.
They drank at a cosy pub, where he was totally attentive and courteous, then he drove her home.
He followed her up the front path, and they paused at her door.
"Film seemed t' affect thee deeply" she said softly.
"Eh, what makes thee say that?" he asked.
"Thee started rude and selfish, then after the film, thee let me go ahead of you. Thee were right different."
"Oh, sorry, lass", he replied "It's t' job......"
Then seeing her puzzlement,....."I's before th' ee, except after see."
And they lived happily ever after. :hide:
Cheers, Mike.

I know Graham.. that's how I felt. I couldn't tell if she was a good ole cockney or if he was a Shakespearian Scot! Somewhere in rural England indeed

Hi Ben,
Not doubting you for a second, but your source of this shock revelation was......?

BTW please see my question on bus stop dancer thread. Quoting you as I did above, I get another red underline on your Inverness!
Cheers, Mike.
