Found in their comments section. As they only show repeats these days,
last years licence is still valid.
Wonder why the BBC didn't highlight that one?

I've never felt so frustrated....... died so frequently/spectacularly/or needlessly....... yet had so much fun, in a long time.

It's a bizarre and outdated way of raising revenue is it not. A tax on something you just might not watch or consume, how is that fair? BBC has yet to catch up with the online world.

To be fair to auntie beeb, you get quite a bit for your £14. Outdated as it is, it works well IMHO. Local and national television broadcasting, in digital. Radio stations, both national and local in analogue and digital, a huge web presence and iPlayer. You'd be paying Murdoch £50+ for anything that came close to that.
Ben.

Per month for tv license (from memory, I'd need to check the bank statement). I didn't think folk in your neck of the woods had to pay it mate?
Ben.

I'm with Ben on this Alex. My monthly Direct Debit for my TV licence is £12.12 a month. I know "Auntie" has (quite justifiably in some cases) come in for some criticism recently but the BBC still provides an incredible amount and variety of high quality advert-free entertainment (well, sort of
) and information programming via the TV, radio and internet. For just 12 quid a month I think that's unbelievable value. Never mind the TV and internet content - I'd pay £12 just to hear the live concerts Radio 3 broadcasts regularly. The technical quality is superb and when you compare it with the cost of a ticket for a classical concerts these days, it really is great value for money.

But then I wouldn't however I am legally compelled to pay anyway.I'd pay £12 just to hear the live concerts Radio 3 broadcasts regularly.
There's also a lot of room for savings, do they need to send 45 reporters to the G8 summit, the rest of the world's broadcasters only sent 105 between them. Do they need BBC3 and BB4 which both only broadcast for half the day and basically repeat their schedule from the night before after midnight? Why not combine them and/or share the content with BBC2?
Not to mention their rejection of Freedom of Information requests on journalistic grounds when it's nothing of the sort, e.g. attendees at a meeting, results of an internal enquiry.
There's a lot of good in the BBC, but it's in danger of becoming a bloated self justifying shibboleth.

Yet some stations restrict us form programmes on the catch up as 'out of the area.'
I don't have a licence and still get hounded about that but they don't seem to want to accept my excuse
I stand by my decision not to buy one as I genuinely feel that not having a TV is a good enough excuse.
