I preferred the twin stacks of the QE to the 3 of the Mary to be honest (there's always one) Saw both as a kid when holidaying on the IOW. The guest house we stayed at was run and owned by the sister of Sir Christopher Cockerell. Remember the place awash with phots of hovercraft
Agree with you on QE2. She looked modern 'then' but her design was such that she still looks the business today. Nothing since has come close to matching her unrivaled looks
